How to check an AI-generated health claim

Follow a claim back to its source before letting it shape a purchase.

An AI answer can sound certain while mixing unlike products, quoting old information, or inventing a citation. Treat it as a lead to investigate.

A five-step check

  1. Write down the exact claim. Separate “may support” from “proven to treat” or “permanently enlarges.”
  2. Open the source. Confirm that it exists and says what the answer claims.
  3. Check applicability. Match the studied formula, dose, population, and outcome.
  4. Check the date. A current-looking summary can rely on older research or a changed formula.
  5. Look for missing risks. A useful answer addresses limitations and interactions as well as benefits.

Keep fact checks precise

Quote only the claim being assessed, name the supporting or contradicting source, and explain what remains uncertain. A change in an AI answer is not itself new medical evidence.
